venues and events
as a region of rich farmland, criss-crossed by rivers and surrounded by the sea, the south west can claim to be the source of some of the best produce in the country, if not the world. it is well served by a wealth of festivals celebrating food, drink, or both side by side!
as ex-journalists we are the ideal people to provide on-the-day coverage of your festival -posting to social media, or providing your stall-holders with publicity material from the event.
the selection below comes from our coverage of the exeter festival of southwest food and drink.

Exeter Festival
the exeter festival is one of the region's premier foodie (and drinkie!) events - attracting crowds in their thousands to sample the best of southwest produce.
we attended this year to tweet videos from the event.
our first challenge was to find organiser Michael caines - a busy man having just opened his new venture at lympstone manor.
having cornered him after the first cookery demo of the day, he was only too happy to wave a flag for regional produce!

once Michael was `in the can' we wanted to find stories that reflected the current trends in the industry - one of the most noticable was gins showcasing the incredible boom in artesan distilling. oddfellows bar listed no fewer than 14 from the southwest.
Oddfellows Gin
oddfellows also came up with some interesting westcountry twists on familiar cocktails.
Barbican Botanist
barbican botanist's blend of botanicals is proving popular with drinkers keen to try something new.
the same team is behind `little gin box' - a subscription service that offers regular deliveries of new gins from around the country through the post.

Moor View Alpacas
from cornwall came moor view alpacas, showcasing their alpaca meat burgers and sausages - but would the festival-going public take to alpaca burgers??
staying on the food front, we couldn't resist the smells coming from dart farms, and their green egg.
Darts Farm Green Egg
and finally...a festival overview.
